ROMUALD KARMAKAR
BIO-FILMOGRAPHY
Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1965. In 1994,
he founded his production company Pantera Film GmbH.
His first feature film DER TOTMACHER (THE DEATHMAKER)
was awarded for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival
in 1995. His last feature DIE NACHT SINGT IHRE LIEDER (NIGHTSONGS) from
a play by Jon Fosse was invited to the Competition of the Berlin Film
Festival 2004. With the support of the National Foundation of Culture and
Arts he’s currently working on a feature
project about the operations of a
policebataillon from Hamburg in occupied
Poland in 1942/43. He lives in Berlin.
